Boxes, Dreams & Fresh Air...

There’s a strange mix of excitement, chaos, and mild regret that comes with packing up your entire life. One minute you’re dreaming about slow farm mornings and peaceful sunsets, and the next you’re standing in the kitchen wondering why you own fourteen coffee mugs, three broken extension cords, and a drawer full of takeaway sauce packets from 2021.

But somewhere between the cardboard boxes, endless trips to the hardware store, and trying to convince ourselves that “this plant will definitely survive the move,” it finally started to feel real — we were leaving city life behind and starting a brand-new chapter at Tau Farm.

For years, life has been fast-paced. Traffic. Noise. Schedules. Grocery stores with parking lots that somehow raise your blood pressure before you even walk inside. City life has its perks, but eventually we started craving something slower. Something quieter. Somewhere we could hear birds instead of car alarms.

So naturally, we decided the best solution was to buy cabins, renovate them, move our lives, redesign spaces, and completely uproot everything we know. Very calm and rational behaviour.

But honestly? We couldn’t be more excited.

Tau Farm already had the magic — open skies, fresh air, beautiful surroundings, and that feeling that time somehow moves differently here. We just saw the potential to breathe new life into the cabins while keeping the heart of the place exactly as it should be.

One of the most exciting parts has been sourcing décor and imagining the spaces coming together. Suddenly weekends are spent debating cushion fabrics like it’s a life-or-death decision and getting unreasonably excited over things like wooden hooks, linen bedding, and “the perfect lamp.” We’ve officially entered the stage of life where a good basket brings genuine happiness.

Our vision is simple: spaces that feel warm, natural, peaceful, and connected to nature. Think earthy textures, slow mornings on the deck, outdoor fires, coffee with a view, and cabins that make you want to put your phone away for a while.

Of course, behind every beautiful renovation photo is at least one person covered in dust questioning their life choices. There have already been moments of complete chaos — measuring things incorrectly, moving furniture twelve times, and discovering that renovation budgets are more like gentle suggestions than actual numbers.

But even in the middle of the mess, there’s something incredibly exciting about building a life that feels more intentional.

This move is about more than just changing locations. It’s about creating a slower rhythm. A space where people can reconnect with nature, rest properly, and remember what it feels like to simply be still for a moment.

And for us, it’s about stepping into something completely new — scary, exciting, slightly dusty, and absolutely worth it.

Tau Farm is slowly becoming home, one cardboard box and décor decision at a time.
