There’s something beautifully unexpected about finding the love of your life later than you imagined.

Not because love is less meaningful when it arrives later—but because by then, you know yourselves more deeply.

You’ve lived enough life to understand what matters, what doesn’t, and what kind of peace you want to build for the future.

For us, that peace arrived in the form of our best friendship, a shared dream, and a farm.

If someone had told us a few years ago that we would trade traffic, deadlines, noise, and city routines for gravel roads, sunsets, wildlife sounds, and slow mornings on a farm, we probably would have laughed. Yet here we are—starting over in the most beautiful way possible.

Falling in Love with Simplicity

Getting married later in life feels different.

There’s less pressure to impress and more appreciation for the small things:

     Morning coffee together
     Quiet companionship
     Shared dreams
Building a home instead of just a life
     Choosing calm over chaos

When you marry your best friend, everyday moments become the adventure. The conversations are deeper. The laughter is easier.

Even the uncertainty feels less frightening because you’re facing it together.

And moving to a farm? That changes you too.

The city teaches you to rush. The farm teaches you to breathe.

Trading Convenience for Meaning

Farm life is not glamorous every day. There’s dust, long drives, unexpected challenges, maintenance lists that never end, and moments where you question whether you’ve completely lost your minds.

But then there are the sunsets.

The silence.

The stars.

The feeling of waking up to open space instead of alarms and traffic.

There’s something grounding about living closer to nature. Life slows down enough for you to notice things again—birds calling at sunrise, the smell of rain on dry ground, the comfort of a fire at night, and how healing stillness can be.

We didn’t just buy a farm. We bought into a different way of living.

Starting Over Isn’t Starting Behind

One of the biggest lessons we’re learning is that life doesn’t run on a schedule.

There is no perfect age to:

     Fall in love
     Get married
     Change careers
     Buy a farm
     Begin again

Sometimes the best chapters are the ones you never planned.

And maybe that’s the beauty of this season—choosing a life that feels aligned instead of expected.

Building a Life We Love

This farm is more than land to us.

It's early morning walks.

Future memories.

Campfires under the stars.

A slower pace.

A dream we decided was worth taking a chance on.

There’s still so much to learn, and we’re sure this journey will come with equal parts magic and madness. But that’s what makes it exciting.

So here’s to late love.

To second chapters.

To courage.

To building a home with your best friend.

And to discovering that sometimes the life you never planned becomes the one you were always meant to live.
